Horrible experience. Handicapped parking was atrocious. Some handicapped spots closer to Hwy 80 than hospital. Spent the whole day in the ER because the hospital didn’t have an open room. They Called my sister at 3:30 asking for permission for surgery at 4:30 on my mom. When asked, it was to amputate her leg. The surgery was not an emergency. No one had even discussed amputation with me or my family prior to this call. Her surgeon (the next day) was excellent. The hospitalist was terrible. Rushed in and out. No time for questions and did not exam her. She was discharged to a SNF without a call to me or my family. My sister showed up to her empty room and panicked thinking she had passed away. After having major surgery I spent three days hospitalized at the Christus main hospital in Longview. Prior to surgery I was very apprehensive about an extended stay, not knowing what to expect but from the moment they got me settled in my room to the time I was discharged, I honestly felt like I was in the best hands at all times. All the nurses, doctors, therapists, attending staff and supporting staff were all very friendly, prompt, attentive, informative and really made me feel like my wellbeing was their top priority. I was very comfortable the entire time, received excellent care and was treated with respect and courtesy from everybody. My needs were always met, I had a peaceful view, the room was clean and quiet, my water was always full, and the cafeteria staff went above and beyon

There was poor communication among the staff, patient, and family, leaving us feeling lost. One doctor indicated that my mom had bile duct stones and needed an ERCP. However, the GI doctor claimed it was just debris that would likely be expelled naturally, stating only 10% of cases required surgery. He implied the procedure wasn't necessary, so my mom was sent home. At discharge, her blood work was already concerning, with orange/brown urine and pain. The next day, I attempted to contact the doctor, but the phone number led to an office where he didn’t practice. When I called the hospital, I learned they had no record of him being affiliated there. After my mom underwent follow-up blood work ordered by Dr. Chaudhury, her urine remained brown, and she appeared weak, tired, and confused. W

The surgery staff in the main building at CHRISTUS Good Shepherd are great ! Getting so many patients ready for surgery is quite a challenge but these professionals were courteous , respectful and compassionate. Everyone we encountered was helpful and nice. I let them know we appreciated them and the work they do .

My experience this last stay was absolutely horrible, because of one Incompetent Nurse that did not know how to relate totally at all with patients. Never had problems this bad before at this hospital. Nonone deserve this kind of disrespect when they are in the hospital sick, It's is sad that I had to rate 1 star because of one person. Wish I could have clicked zero.
