Children's Medical Center Plano Emergency Room (ER)

We have had four ER visits in the last two months for respiratory distress for our two year old and six month old. It has been very scary and emotional, but the biggest blessing has been this ER. It is clean, quick, and filled with kind, knowledgeable staff. The renovations make getting inside easy and comfortable. We have YET to experience a wait time. The nurses in the ER and hospital all have such a love for your children. We are so, so grateful for the staff and hospital for caring for our children.

We were traveling out of state and lucky that this Children’s ER was right down the street as my almost 2 year old started having rib retractions and a fever of 104. When we arrived her blood oxygen was low and they took us right back to a bed we didn’t even sit down in the waiting room. Every single staff member we interacted with was kind, knowledgeable, caring, and answered all of our questions with patience. We even got an escort back to the parking garage. The facility was the cleanest hospital I’ve seen, someone was wiping down chairs and tables in the waiting room, the room was clean and modern, the equipment was too. Avoid this place. After an accident, our daughter injured her elbow. We went to get it treated at Andrew's Institute (I'll write a separate review for them) and they sent us to the ER to get a full body X-ray to ensure no other injuries. We were confident there were no other injuries, but we agreed out of an abundance of caution. Big Mistake. They did not care if she was injured, but wanted to see if she was abused! Are you kidding me. We ended up sitting in the ER for over 4 hours while they gave us no updates and misrepresented what they were doing the entire time. Our daughter went through a needless and traumatic full body x-ray (over 20 images) for nothing. Finally, they confirmed the x-ray showed no additional injuries, and then proceeded to tell us she would need ANOTHER full body x

First time bringing my 3 year old to this Hospital. Front Desk Nurses were nice when checking us in. The nurse that took us to our room was the sweetest, she was so nice to my little one. But kudos to Nurse Kristina. She did all the procedures to my little one, and had the most gentle hands and patience on earth. She was very professional and loving. Also kudos to Suzanne from ultrasound. She was so nice and gentle when she did the ultrasound , even gave her stickers for being so brave. There was a nurse in the nurse station, young female I don’t remember her name, she needs to have more empathy . These are little humans that are learning and of course will be scared and cry. Also the doctor on duty was very nice and professional. Just some nurses need to learn to be more patient, polite,

My granddaughter had a cheer comp in Plano and the first night at our hotel she was complaining of an ear ache she couldn’t sleep or get comfortable so I brought her here and I am so pleased with The staff they were professional, prompt and knowledgeable there was no wait time! I am so pleased with this facility I wish we lived in the area because I would definitely come again!!!!! Thank you for taking care of her💖
