Chhoeuy Ov Yam, MD | Kaiser Permanente

We were assigned to Dr. Yam during a fairly urgent situation with my daughter. Even though Diamond Bar is an hour away from us, we took the appointment as we had no choice. Dr. Yam impressed us with his thorough line of questioning and his level of concern. He had great bedside manner and patiently explained everything to us, addressing all our questions and concerns without dismissing them (as some doctors do). We left feeling like we had quite a good understanding of why things had to be done a certain way, what his concerns were, what to keep an eye out for, and an action plan if things continued as they were going. We felt he took extra steps to ensure our daughter’s recovery. Thankfully, she started feeling better the same evening, so further action was not necessary. He was so good

I was searching the phone number for the Kaiser peds clinics on google and saw a bad rating for dr yam and felt inclined to counteract it with 5 starts. Dr yam is the best pediatrician I have ever encountered. He has been my daughter’s doctor for 9 years and my son’s for 4. We went through a few pediatricians in my daughter’s first few months and happened to be booked with dr yam because he was available for a same day appointment. After that day, I switched to him as her primary and have never changed. He’s so patient and I always feel like he’s really listening to and cares about what I’m saying.
