Cheryl Rowan Speech Therapy

We decided to work with Cheryl after our four year old was falling behind in her speech and having difficulty communicating at school. Working with Cheryl was an absolutely wonderful experience. She really dove deep into my daughter’s speech issues and was able to work with her to make huge gains in speech articulation. Cheryl also made the whole experience fun and something our daughter looked forward to by incorporating games and fun toys. Our daughter is now understood at school and has gained confidence in her communication; her teachers comment on what an improvement she has made in just a few months. I would highly recommend Cheryl to anyone with a child struggling with speech!

My 8 year old asked for help pronouncing R's and we were able to get a spot with Cheryl. We went once a week over the course of a few months. Each session was impeccably managed, I was so impressed by Cheryl's ability to keep an antsy 2nd grader engaged, having fun, and totally on task. I sat in the background watching and witnessed tremendous effort from my child each session. We ended on Cheryl's recommendation; that while we weren't yet at 100%, self-correction was consistent and could probably be relied on for incremental improvements. I am so glad that Cheryl was our speech therapist, I think it's also helpful to note that she's extremely organized and great with communication. I would return and I highly recommend!

We strongly encourage families with kid(s) needing speech therapy to work with Cheryl. Our 3.5 year old son had two thirty minute sessions a week for about six months. When we started, he had just a few sound systems resulting it almost no one outside the family being able to understand him. With Cheryl's creative instruction, our son concluded with developmentally appropriate speech and is understood by peers and adults alike. Our son was sad to graduate from speech but proud of himself and is now willing to keep working on tricky words/sounds. We were impressed with Cheryl's approach to speech therapy. Cheryl Rowan is absolutely fabulous! We've loved working with her. She's an expert speech-language pathologist and stays up to date with the latest methods and research. I'm regularly amazed at the depth of her knowledge and insight. She has a colorful and welcoming office filled with games and toys for kids to use while they practice their speech -- I think kids often don't realize they're "working" while they're playing with Cheryl! She's great to work with on the business side too - super responsive and easy to schedule with. Thank you Cheryl for all of your help!

Cheryl is amazing! My son was only saying a handful of words at two years old when he started speech therapy. After 1.5 years his speech is above and beyond other kids his age. He and I receive compliments frequently now about how clear and advanced his speech is. Sessions were fun and engaging for my son who would run into the room teeming with excitement.
