Cherokee Medical Center: Emergency Room

We had such a good experience last week. My 4 month old daughter had high fevers, so we took her here since it was closest to our home. The intake nurse was prompt and very caring. All of the nurses were kind and considerate. We saw Christopher, PA and Dr. Grant and both made sure we all understood diagnosis and treatment plan. I’m thankful for their expertise.

Zero if I could put it. The nurses has joked and played around the whole time. Son complaining of chest pain blood pressure 154 over 100. They cant find anything. They sending him home. No monitoring machines on him while he was there or nothing. Its a complete joke. I wouldnt take my pet turtle. Lets hope he dont go home and die cause bet your butt it will be a lawsuit. Let it be one of their own in there. It would be a whole different ballgame. Shame on that whole team involved.

With only 2 people in front of us with almost the same symptoms, we sit in the lobby for 3 hours and then another 2 hours in the back. They were only 4 that came out while we sit there forever. The security officer got on to some people in the lobby for not having there mask over their noses but the security officer sit in the registration area with one of the lady that did not have her mask on at all. He laugh as he told the two lady his war stories. The staff in the back were nice and helpful. The doctor did help some with the meds and was nice. I truly can not recommend this hospital's er unless you have no other options. I had used the er before and it was on point, that was before Spartanburg Hospital System took over.

I got more care from my daughter than I did from the doctors at the er. I was in an accident and hit my head. Not a serious accident but hit my head hard enough to make me nauseated and blur my vision. Very visible lump on the side of my head with a bruise where it made contact. The doc claims he saw nothing and everything is fine. I don't think he understands how hard it hit me. Oh well. Let's hope I'm okay.

Should be zero stars but whatever. Had the money to do renovations but still can't get their crap in order. Whole lobby full of people who have been here for 3+ hours but calling people back who have been here 20 minutes (and yes I know how ERs work, one of those people in the lobby was a sick BABY). Completely inexcusable. Do not come here if you have any kind of actual emergency, you'd probably die in the waiting room.
