On November 16, 2024 I had a seizure in my right arm and was rushed to Stony Brook hospital. The emergency room got my seizure under control, did an MRI of the left side of my brain. I met doctor Mikell who explained that I had a spot on my brain and recommended that a biopsy be done. There was a strong possibility that it could be cancer. Doctor Mikell and his team explained my options once they had the biopsy results. Doctor Mikell and his team saved my life. The test results indicated that it was not cancer but an infection. It was treated with antibiotics. I was up and walking the day after surgery. When the specific bacteria was determined I was sent home with a PIC line and antibiotics administered by my wife.
