Center for Vein Disease: Mehru Sonde, MD DABVLM

I had my first visit with Dr. Sonde in Chevy Chase and it was such a great experience. The whole team was amazing and very accommodating from start to finish. Angie at the front desk was especially kind and helpful — she made check-in easy and welcoming. Dr. Sonde was wonderful. She took the time to explain everything clearly, answered all of my questions, and made me feel completely comfortable throughout the appointment. I really appreciated how thorough and reassuring she was. Highly recommend this practice if you’re looking for a knowledgeable and compassionate vein specialist!

8 years ago I saw Dr Sonde at her old clinic and she performed several ablative procedures on my legs. I'm thrilled that I found her at her current location. Not only did she remember me and what procedures she had performed, but her excellent treatments held my veins fairly stable. I've been receiving treatments for severe varicosities since I was 30 due to back to back pregnancies and genetics. Dr Sonde is a specialist who truly knows and loves her specialty and is far far above the other vein clinicians I've seen in the past and who I see advertised online. My new ultrasound shows that I need only a couple of small procedures to keep my veins as healthy as possible. She is a vein whisperer! I'm so grateful to Dr Sonde and her excellent staff. I was a bit apprehensive with vein treatment in general. I had seen another clinician who wanted to perform vein stripping which I don't recommend due to its most invasive procedure. Contrarily, Dr. Sonde used a technique called heat ablation and after doing some research, is least invasive. The procedure, for me, was not painful and quick. Dr. Sonde and the ultrasound technician were highly skilled and kind throughout the whole procedure. I have a second procedure in a few days where they will inject a foam medicine to also make my vein healthy. HIGHLY recommend the practice. I also agree with another poster that the front staff is friendly and knowledgeable.

Dr. Sonde is the absolute best. She understands the needs of women, in particular, and is so good at helping troubleshoot and find the solution that’s right for your particular situation. Can’t recommend her enough.

Dr. Sonde took the time to fully explain my condition and describe the procedure to improve it. She was thorough and assured that I understood the next steps and recovery process.
