Cayuga Nursing & Rehabilitation Center

Don’t like to post negative reviews but have to for this company. Have a family member there for over a month. Was told by numerous staff members numerous times that they were not able to make decisions based on at least stage 2 dementia. A family friend went behind the family’s back anyway and had him sign a health care proxy. The 2 witnesses who signed never actually saw them sign it. One witness happened to be an employee of the facility. Well, they should have never have accepted the proxy. So Cayuga ridge and staff did a 180 and said that family member was capable of making decisions on there own to protect there own but. In the process throwing us under the bus and asking us not to use names of staff who talked with us. There is more to the story but am wondering if this has happen

What a caring and professional nursing home. They did a great job with my mother 8years ago who had dementia. Now they are doing a great job for my father in-law after a horrible experience at Waterview Nursing rehab in Rochester NY. Cayuga ridge is on top of everything and gets you answers if they don't know. Physical therapy is top notch every day of the week. They respond to patients needs within a reasonable time frame. Nursing staff and administrators are great. Clean, bright and cheerful for a nursing home.

My brother is currently in there for rehab for a broken shoulder and unable to walk from a fall. We found a place to be Beautiful and immaculate more like a hotel than a rehab center does not smell. The people are very nice. I give it a five star rating. My brother was at Waterview on Beach Avenue in Rochester and it was a place from hell so this place is incredibly refreshing and beautiful and so thankful for it and thankful my brother was able to get in there. God bless all the people there and the work that they do is amazing.

My Dad has been at Cayuga for 16 months, after we finally convinced him to come back to Ithaca. The staff is wonderful. They really care about the residents, they have twice acted quickly and competently when he had a health crisis, and he even likes the food! The facility is new and clean. Working in a nursing home is a hard job (and a hard situation to have a parent in), but our family is VERY thankful he is there.

This facility is awful! I was so afraid that my 95 year old grandma wouldn't make it out alive. She was only there for rehab. She was there for a month and I had to make a big fuss over her getting a shower! She only was given 1 shower during the entire month! There was a lack of communication with the entire facility. No one had the same updates or the same stories. It was a nightmare! They made up lies and were completely unprofessional. Think twice before putting a loved one in this facility! My grandma made it out with several bruises, skin tears, and a nasty yeast infection! The 2 huge bruises on her arm, they called me and said they had to turn it in and do an investigation and to this day they refuse to update me on the findings. I am starting to think they didn't investigate it and
