Carr Island Animal Hospital

We moved to Newburyport in 2013 with our "rescues" Belle our Schnoodle dog and Butch our cat. Over the years they received the best of care from the doctors AND staff at Carr Island. We have had to say goodbye to both Belle 6 years ago for medical reasons and lastly this year Butch for compassionate end of live reasons. In those instances the vets we dealt with (Drs. Hennessy, Craig and LeMay) were always kind to our pets and to us and we thank each of them.

We love this place!! We feel that our dog is very well cared for every time we bring her here, and we are confident that she is in good hands. Also we absolutely love Dr. (Kacey) Weintraub, she is absolutely amazing!! Dr. Weintraub truly cares for the well being of our dog and always gives us clear information regarding what's going on with out pup, and what we should do. We wish everyone could experience the confidence and care that Dr. Weintraub provides us when they go to the vet.

I went to Dr. Hennessy and Dr. Craig for 18 years with 2 pets and they were absolutely the best and I appreciate the great care they gave my animals. I left the practice because on a 15 degree February day, the office staff left me waiting in the car for 20 minutes holding my dying cat. As I walked in with my cat who was getting euthanized, the first thing the office person said to me was "how are you going to pay?" and by what payment method- said with a rude attitude. I was in tears. It was so insensitive and cruel, I could never bring myself to go back.

Excellent service. We have a male bunny that needed to be neutered. They were so kind and caring. Not to mention professional and knowledgeable. The surgery went really well, and they called to tell us everything was fine. And also gave a courtesy call a day later to check on our little bun bun. They were also much more affordable than other vets in the area. I would totally recommend their services to all. So thankful to Carr Island!!

Today i was kicked out of the practice after being a client for over 20 years, having my 19 year old girl finish out her life in their arms, having the birth of 6 of my puppies take place on their operating table and my 17 year old being cared for in the late stages of his life. I go in for a routine overpriced exam with a new vet and wind up being told that I will no longer be welcome to come back to the facility in the most harsh and unfriendly way possible. I was told that it was mandatory by law for me to inject my dog with unnecessary vaccines. My dog is 17 years old and has a back problem that makes it very challenging for him to walk. He has experienced some recent side effects from his heart worm medication and has become allergic to almost all treats and food. I'm just simply no
