Carol Mapp & Associates

A decade or so ago I saw Carol for individual and couples therapy for several years. I was newly married and struggling to find my own identity and real life/career purpose. She demonstrates a perfect balance between empathy and telling you what you need to hear in a no-nonsense way. She helped unravel and clarify difficult family of origin dynamics that allowed me to heal. My current life would not be the same without having worked with Carol! I SO highly recommend her. You can absolutely put your faith and trust in her.

I can only speak from my experience with Ms. Mapp, who served as my family coordinator for over a year. She was firm, attentive, and compassionate listening to both parties; however, there was never any traction or movement with the 5 sessions we attended. Over all, I was left with a hefty bill that did not meet my expectations for what I was hoping to accomplish with the Family Coordinator.

Absolutely incredible therapist. Seeing Carol is like seeing a lifelong friend who I trust with my life, who listens and helps me gain insight into myself, as well as others I have meaningful relationships with. Thoughtful, insightful and down to earth with REAL advice and objective- yet personal- assessment. Marriage counseling, individual counseling, and therapy for my teenage son on dealing with a brother with special needs while navigating life’s ups and downs. She has been a blessing in my life and my family. Grateful to have found her!

I believe Carol has gotten forgetful. She did appear to the court which I paid $1200 for 10 min apperance. She did not say what she said during the counseling sessions and she forgot most of what we talked about. She went by only email communications which is only about 5% of the conversations we had. She had to constantly looked at email notations in order to purge the memory. Obviously she did not prep for the court well enough even though she charged $3000 total for appearance and prep/purging document. After 2 years, I am extremely disappointed by her performance.

Completely avoid for divorce collaboration. If you enjoy repetitive and very slow paced meetings that are not productive go somewhere cheaper. It’s unethical to give clients documents to read through and then very slowly read through them for over a hour like it’s a book club while clients are getting billed over $1,000/h for that meeting.
