As a 100% service-connected veteran, I am writing this to speak directly to my fellow brothers and sisters in arms. The care I have received at the Carl Vinson VA Medical Center has been genuinely life-changing. ​I came here needing stability and tools to manage C-PTSD and trauma. Mister Blanco has helped me reconnect with my calm, and Mister Jackson is always there to support my needs. For the most part it has not been a great experience with VA services. I have utilized the Patient Advocate and even went to far as to contact a local congress member and senator. I am not pleased that phone calls are many times not answered. I do use the secure messaging so you have documentation that you contacted them. I did get a call from a Nurse at the Macon Clinic that I was contacting them too much via secure messaging. Not sure what you are supposed to do if you need help. The Patient Advocate did get that handled. It is tough that my husband cannot get doctors in Macon and we have to travel to Atlanta for specialists. The Dublin VA should definitely receive negative stars! Twice now, the first of whom being my dad, had been diagnosed with cancer and congestive heart failure among several other illnesses. His cardiologist ordered a stress test when his heart was @ 18% capacity. The stress test resulted in his heart's capacity being reduced to 11%. I watched them push pills and offer no real solutions and would even "misplace" orders from outside doctors. The 2nd being my brother who was in stage 3 cancer. He had been hurting for a year prior. He's now in stage 4 and WAITING for his primary care doctor to approve chemotherapy treatment. He's 6 weeks out of surgery. This is absolutely unacceptable! They literally seem to wait on them to expire! At this point, I wouldn't take my dog to the va! Our Veterans

For myself the Dublin VAMC provides good Patients care. I've never had any problems with Primary Care, Specialty Care and honestly I'm completely satisfied with going there for my Medical both Physical and Mental Health Care.

It is hit or miss. There are some incredibly kind people here. Unfortunately there are many who do not want to be here and carry on the traditional truth of the VA stigma with how much they don’t care. This is common in every organization, but the VA historically has been underfunded and provided subpar treatment. If you need treatment, come here. There is no guarantee you will have a good experience, but know there are a lot of people that work here that truly care. Give it to God and advocate for your needs.
