CareWell Urgent Care Fresh Pond

CareWell Urgent care is a mediocre last support clinic. Unfortunately getting in to my PCP and perhaps yours isn’t always easy. Sometimes you have to resort to an urgent care clinic. Here is what I experienced and you may too: 1) You are going to wait. Appointment times do mot exist at CareWell Urgent Cares. This time, I spent one hour waiting before seeing anyone. Last time it was nearly two hours. 2) You will not know what charges you will be billed for before or weeks after. 3) Outstanding waiting entertainment. Step Brother’s, The Office - the place felt like a college dorm room buzzing with ways to waste your time while you wait. Absolutely no issues here. I spent 3 hours earlier in the day going to two other CareWell locations and one additional provider and all were horrible. All I was doing was trying to get a rapid covid test due to a suspected exposure, and the people at the desks of the other locations could hardly give me the time of day. At this location, the desk worker who received me at 2pm was extremely nice. He provided me transparent information about how long the wait was before I arrived, then provided me clear instructions to check in and see a doctor. He didn’t give me any sort hassle and was extremely friendly. He also was very quick to help other patients and seemed extremely competent. It was my first time visiting an urgent care clinic. I’ve always just headed to an emergency room for some reason. Never again! (And I think I’ll be coming back to this urgent care clinic!) There’s free parking in the back of the building, can’t beat that! The receptionist was pleasant. I waited maybe 10 minutes?! The nurse that came in to talk to me was really nice, pleasant, friendly, helpful & sympathetic. The doctor came in after a few minutes and right away she was very pleasant. She listened to everything I said (and what I complained about!) and I didn’t feel at all rushed! She too was very friendly, helpful & sympathetic. The doctor made sure all my questions were answered and I felt comfortable before leaving. It really was a good experience!

I received excellent care from all of the staff and providers here. The nurse practitioner in particular was very kind, patient and informative with instructions following my COVID diagnosis. I would definitely recommend this location! Also there was almost no wait — I was able to reserve a time online in advance.

Urgent care clinics that popped all over in recent years is a great alternative to trying set up an appointment with very busy Primary care physicians. This clinic is relatively new, clean, friendly staff. A simple walk in procedure and little paperwork involved. The reason why I have 4 stars is because despite of the fact that I was practically the only patient at that time I had to wait for over an hour to be seen by a nurse practitioner. After nurse has finally arrived, appointment took about 10-15 min. I was happy with the result.
