I visited Capitol Spine & Rehabilitation in Gonzales yesterday as a new patient because my primary chiropractor did not have an opening and I needed same-day relief for severe mid-thoracic spine pain. Despite having an appointment and arriving on time, I waited approximately 1.5 hours and was not introduced to a doctor, nor did I see a doctor at any point during my visit. From a clinical workflow standpoint, for a new patient presenting with severe pain, the standard expectation is a doctor-performed history and examination and a clearly explained plan before initiating modalities. During my visit, I was placed on a lumbar decompression machine. Notably, I was not asked about health history or contraindications for decompression.
