Capital Health – Endocrinology Specialists

I have been trying to make an appointment with this office for over a month. I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt since the motto for US medicine is much like airports--"hurry up and wait"--but a month of phone calls to their office at various times of day with no one answering or the calls going to voicemail is quite frustrating. Leaving multiple voicemail messages with the information asked for over the phone (name, date of birth, etc.) with the promise of someone calling back by end of day with no such thing happening (not even a missed call or voicemail message left in response days later), I can't help but wonder how anyone can make an appointment with their endocrinologist or schedule an appointment as a new patient. I need to see a doctor here but I can’t get anyone on the phone, I can’t get a callback, and I can’t schedule on the website. What else am I supposed to do? I even called the customer experience number from another review and that cut me off after one sentence saying I reached the end of the recording time. What a joke.

My experience at Capital Health Endocrinology with Dr. Nazish Ahmad exceeded my expectations. The staff's kindness, especially the receptionist who efficiently assisted me as a new patient, set a very welcoming tone. Dr. Ahmad's exceptional kindness and deep knowledge stood out to me as she took the time to understand my medical history and concerns prior to my appointment. Unlike previous specialists, she questioned my medication dosage and devised a comprehensive plan to address the root cause of my health issues. After months of simply being advised to continue medications by previous specialists, Dr. Ahmad has instilled hope that we will be able to uncover the underlying problems I am experiencing.

I saw Dr. Tolin today after my previous doctor, Dr. Thomas left the practice. She was about 20 minutes late which wasn’t a huge deal but when she came into the room she was wearing her work out clothes with a blazer on top. She advised me to stop medication because my lab work showed normal results. I don’t understand why she would advise that because the medication is what is making my labs come back in a normal range. My condition has been managed and monitored with this medication for years. She also wanted me to get an MRI which didn’t make sense to me. My levels were all in a normal range. I asked if she thought it was probable that she would find anything wrong and she said no. I asked many questions and her answer was “I don’t know” repeatedly. None of this makes sense to me and it

Dr Tolin has got to be one of the rudest doctors I have ever seen. She hurried through my appointment, took no time to listen to my concerns, and gave me an attitude when I mentioned I wanted to see a specialist for my thyroid condition instead of just my pcp because I am post op. I left feeling humiliated and embarrassed that I had even went to the doctor…she made me feel like I was wasting her time. Do NOT recommend, especially for thyroid disorders… she did not seem to know (or care) much about my condition.
