Butler Veterinary Clinic

My husband took our 7 year old Mini Aussie to Butler Vet because she was limping on her shoulder. First they wanted to run $300 "bloodwork" on her which my husband declined, he also informed them she was not due for her rabies. We use 3 different vet clinics for our dogs and they are not who had given her the most recent rabies. When the young lady brought Dixie out to my husband with some medication for 2 weeks and told him she has arthritis in her shoulder, she informed my husband that they gave her a rabies shot as she was over due. I believe they did not have the right to administer something that my husband did not approve. Dr. Wood would have discussed this with her clients instead of administering something without permission. We are very disappointed with Butler Vet Clinic.

January 27 2026: Itty Bitty and I had another great experience at Butler's. She loves going there. If you could see her on her way in, she is pulling on the leash to get in there because every one there greets her as if she is the most important dog in town. (I think she is too.) She got her usual bath/spa treatment, a new bandana and a new purple heart on her hip that's to Brianna. We always get the top ten treatment. I have always taken my pets to Butler Veterinary Clinic. My Jack Russell started there as a puppy going to puppy kindergarten once or twice a week. That practice made it possible for her to see giong to the vet as a good experience. Butler Veterinary has an exceptional vet, Dr Wood, and some incredibly talented and caring support staff. My young puppy was extremely sick for months. Dr. Wood showed a significant degree of concern in her efforts to help my puppy. She was analytical in examining treatment options, she weighed treatment risks and set a course of care that ultimately returned my pup to health. At one point, she even called let me know that she would be out of town for a few days and indicated that I could call her personal cell if my pup experienced a set back while she was away. That level of service and compassion was very important to me and I am very grateful for her work. Some of her staff are equally dedicated to the care of my dog.

The staff was very helpful. I have a dog that when I went in for the first time was taking one medicine every 12 hrs and another medicine every 8 hrs. The vet was able to change the every 8 to a every 12 so everything is on the same schedule. This has led to better control of his epilepsy. Thank you

My parents have had two yorkies. They have always doctored at Butlers. When ever they scheduled teeth cleanings, teeth were always pulled. No one ever called and said they needed teeth pulled. Mom’s Yorkie weighs 5lbs. He’s 9 years old. He went in for a regular teeth cleaning. They pulled SIX teeth! They didn’t even ask her about it! He still can’t see out of his eyes. And oh yeah Willie was taken by a critter cause he had no TEETH to defend himself.
