Burgess Dental

Dr. Burgess has been my dentist since I moved to memphis several years ago. He does fine work (I have had no problems at all with a crown he put on a tooth) and his staff is very nice. Melissa, my hygienist, is very attentive, and I actually look forward to my cleanings. If you want to see a dentist with low overhead and an without an entourage of assistants, this is the office for you.

My mother scheduled an appointment with Dr. Burgess specifically for dentures, which she made clear when booking. She even had her X-rays sent over in advance. We chose this office because they accepted her insurance and had good reviews, so we were hopeful. Unfortunately, our experience was far from positive. The staff was unfriendly and did not acknowledge us, while noticeably engaging with other patients. When my mother finally saw Dr. Burgess, he was dismissive and rude, stating that he only does implants and not dentures. If that were the case, why accept the appointment in the first place? The referral I received to go to Dr. Burgess is the best recommendation I have ever gotten!! I had a horrible, painful dental experience in 2023 and stopped going to the dentist. After my appointment with Dr. Burgess and Jennifer (my hygienist) I am now back on track to visit every 6 mos. I can't begin to express just how thankful I am to this wonderful Family Dentistry!! Been going here for years. Went in after they told I could be seen by the dentist for a broken crown that was cutting me and causing pain. Was leaving for the beach in a few days and he literally sent me away He told me there was nothing he could do. Had to frantically call around and find a dentist an hour away who brought me in same day and popped my broken crown right off and it was instant relief. The other dentist offered to put a temporary crown on same day. Now why couldn’t Dr. Burgess do that? I will never go to this dental office again because of the fact they were willing to send me on vacation in pain and offered me no help whatsoever.

Dr Burgess and his staff at Burgess Dental are just wonderful. Everyone is friendly and professional and the work they do is outstanding. They will always make a place for you if you have a dental emergency, and they are available to contact 24/7.
