Turned Away Despite Having Required Paperwork I brought my child in for an asthma-related visit and was turned away at the front desk because I didn’t have a printed copy of a guardianship/consent form…even though I had the document available on my phone and offered to email it on the spot. This was extremely frustrating, especially given that this office has seen my child multiple times before without requiring this paperwork. No alternative solution was offered (such as uploading through a patient portal or scanning the document), and we were simply told to leave. When a child with a medical issue is seeking care, there should be some level of flexibility or at least a clear, patient-centered process to resolve documentation issues. I walked a quarter mile on my injured hip to this location and once I got there I spoke to a receptionist and my appointment was cancelled. No phone call no text. I was calm and respectful whole time. And was met hostility and desrespect. I barely got two words out and they were treating me like the enemy. Morale of the story practice self-love and never visit this urgent care.

In the vast world of Urgent care in NYC there are so many better choices than the Brookdale Urgent Care Center. One thing people expect from an urgent care center is expedient medical care for minor ailments that don’t quite rise to the level an emergency. This is mainly where Brookdale falls short. When I visited their facility my entire visit took 3 hours. Mind you, that’s 2 hours and 45 minutes waiting and 15 minutes with the NP who, by the way, was quite nice. The reception staff, on the other hand, is slothful and oblivious. When I first entered the center the front desk was abandoned. Rule number one: THE FRONT DESK SHOULD NEVER BE UNMANNED! Gave it one star because i couldn’t give a 0 Arrived at the urgent care at 7:15 pm website states they close at 8:30 pm check in lady was very rude when i ask to see a doctor she turned to me and said we not taking no more patients n turn back around started carry on conversation. No greeting no explanation nothing wonder how they even get patients w someone like her at the front desk

Very unprofessional staff. I came in with my 2 year old daughter and I was told the doctor will not be seeing any kids as she's the only one on staff so I asked what should I do as my baby has a urgent care issue. The lady with the purple locs said go home and call 911 so I said it's not a hospital emergency. So I asked for the doctors name who's refusing to see my baby and that's when the lady with the purple locs told me to go upstairs and see a supervisor so I told her instead of me going to and from just call the supervisor here so she did with a attitude. There was another nurse sitting there which came out and ask what was going on with my baby and I showed her. She then went to the back and begged to dr to see us.
