Boston Hand to Shoulder

If I could leave a 10 star review, I would! Dr. Leibman and Gigi Braga are an amazing team and I was lucky to have them on mine. I am a physical therapist and jiu jitsu athlete. I fractured my arm in a tournament in August. I had surgery to repair the fracture with Dr. Leibman in September. 18 weeks - that is all it took to go from operating room back to competition. YES, YOU HEARD ME CORRECTLY! This past weekend, I was victorious at the IBJJF European Championship in Lisbon, Portugal a little over 4 months after my surgery. Bones break, surgeries help heal, but hard work and dedication to the rehab process combined with a skilled surgical team prevails EVERY. DAMN. TIME. I am forever grateful and lucky to continue to do what I love.

Such a well organized practice. This is my second surgery there. Easy to get an appointment. Superb physicians and PA’s, wonderful nurses and staff. Dr. Leibman and his PA, Gigi are excellent at what they do. They’ll go out of their way to make your life and treatment as good as it can be. From the people welcoming you to the practice to the people checking you out, you will very likely will have a wonderful medical experience. I had a trapieziectomy where they take out an arthritic bone on the thumb joint. A painless surgery and easy recuperation. A fellow golfer had the same symptoms, had the surgery done at another hospital by another surgeon using an older technique said he had more pain than he’d ever had. I broke my wrist in Canada on a Monday and Dr. David Ruchelsman saw me on Wednesday and rearranged his schedule to do surgery on my wrist on Friday. I was totally impressed with his explanation about my choices ( surgery vs no surgery) and I went with his suggestion to have surgery. I am so glad I made that choice because I also broke my left ankle and it would have been next to impossible to totally immobilize my wrist only to possibly find out after time that it wasn’t healing properly. My aftercare was managed by his extremely competent physician assistant Griffin Boedicker who explained everything I needed to know towards my total recovery. Boston Hand and Shoulder was an outstanding facility to work with from injury, to rehabilitation, to release. Everyone in that office understands the total team concept. From the receptionist, to the Surgeon, PA, Xray tech, medical assistants, and physical/occupational therapists, their professionalism, care, and understanding exceeded my expectations. The staff and Dr's at Boston Hand to Shoulder have all been wonderful. I see both Dr.'s Guss and Farina and have received excellent care from both and their PA's. Dr Guss performed successful rotator cuff surgery on my shoulder. I have recommended this practice to friends and neighbors and I always get great feedback. I highly recommend!
