I just received my first ashiatsu massage from Laken, and it was an incredible experience. For those unfamiliar, ashiatsu is a barefoot massage technique where the practitioner uses overhead bars for balance and control while applying deep, even pressure using their body weight. It delivers a true deep tissue experience while remaining deeply calming and relaxing. Laken is remarkably strong yet gentle at the same time. She's clearly passionate about her craft - intentional, attentive, and genuinely invested in her clients' wellbeing. Her expertise shows in every movement. Body in Balance is my go-to for bodywork. Laken has created a beautiful, calming space that immediately puts you at ease and fosters a real sense of safety. Her body awareness is exceptional, and it shows in the way she’s able to pinpoint tension and patterns I wasn’t even aware of. I’ve received both Deep Tissue Massage and Ashiatsu, and my body is grateful for every session. I recently went to see Laken when my past knee injury was acting up. She was awesome at asking questions and talking through her approach prior to starting our session. Not only was she able to address my issues during my first visit to the point where I was pain free and feeling great, she was able to spot other related issues and address them as well!
