After three days of pondering and investigating, I figured out why my husband was mistreated at the emergency department — He is a Self Pay customer in their system! No wonder the excellent Emergency Room doctor we had in March has left Baptist Hospital. This place is in shambles, but it has a pretty shiny exterior and photos of flowers to look at while you wait for hours in agony in the waiting room. I’m glad they chose to spend their money on brass inlays for the floor instead of setting up a budget to pay nurses and staff who could actually offer assistance to the dozens of people waiting in the lobby! Their sign boasts about how many rooms they built. But did they hire enough nurses to work those rooms? I’d like to know the patient ratio that day, but I will be requesting that inf

I had prostate cancer surgery here in September 2025. I was treated excellently from check in to discharge. Every person I interacted with from check in, prep, surgery room, recovery, and finally to my room on the 8th floor treated me with care and respect! My wife told me the valet parking was wonderful too! I was there for about 26 hours total but I was very comfortable and well taken care of.

I just had my baby at Baptist. I’ve been getting my prenatal care at ladies first my whole pregnancy. The whole staff over there is so sweet. Dr Flores-Ortega is my OB and I love her. For my labor, got to the hospital around 12:30 and was in triage by 12:50 and my birth room by 1:00. Each nurse that I had was so perfect for each stage of my labor. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. My only complaints was that the people bringing the food brought other peoples food multiple times and housekeeping only came in once. So at the end the trash cans were overflowing. Outside of that, no complaints. Baby stayed in the room until she had to go off for her hearing test and heel prick. Baptist hospital is always top notch in my book. My nurses on the 6th floor Laken, Ginger, and Katie, were professional, kind, and took excellent care of anything I needed or asked for. Shout out to Felicia who made sure my room was clean and tidy, she had a pleasant an uplifting personality, she was a ray of sunshine and a joy to chat with. The admitting Dr. in the ER was so informative and I told her I wish she could be my Dr. I didn't get a card with her name though. Dr. Videau asked questions and listened to all my answers. Dr. Carter was very thorough in his explanation of my situation. Candace the patient experience manager was also very informative. Which is what you want when you are in the Hospital.
