I was on vacation on the coast and after 8 (!!) dentists in Newport had no time for me, upon a few recommendations from locals, I took a chance and walked into Dr. Oas's office to see if he could fix a chipped filling. 20 minutes later, I was out the door, patched up. If I lived here, he would, without question, be my dentist. Highly recommended, from a guy who normally doesn't write reviews and who has had a ton of dental work done and knows the good from the average.

It's hard to exaggerate how much Dr. Boas (at first Dr. Pantleo) and his staff have helped me. I especially value the hygienist Brandy, who was the first one ever to give me advice on how to maintain my dental health. Before coming to the office I had for many years frequented a Coos Bay dentist's office for regular cleanings, but my gums never seemed to improve, no matter how much they scraped away and no matter how often I brushed or rinsed with hydrogen peroxide or salt. In hindsight, I blame it on a lack of information, or a lack of initiative on the part of those hygienists to explain the basics: flossing, brushing, and the WaterPik -- and also how to perform those chores. During my second visit already, the improvement was tremendous, my gums had quit bleeding and looked healthy;

Dr. Oas performed a root canal on one of my bottom molars in Oct. 2020. I was in a lot of pain when I contacted Bandon Coastal and ready to just rip the tooth out of my mouth. They were very helpful in working with me to get an appointment ASAP and advising me on payment and insurance options. After a visit and some antibiotics Dr. Oas and his wonderful assistant discussed restoration options with me, after some consideration I elected to go with a root canal and save the tooth. And boy I am glad I did! Dr. Oas and his assistant performed my root canal in under one hour with no pain. So far Dr. Oas and his staff have exceeded my expectations.

Very good dentist office. You never wait in the lobby. The dentist has a good sense of humor. There are no financial surprises. They are friendly, efficient and technically know what they are doing. Best dentist in town.
