Avalon Assisted Living in Newnan GA is a wonderful facility. My Aunt has dementia and has lived there for over two years. The staff is amazing. Each and everyone from the reception desk to the nurses station and social services are upbeat, helpful and dedicated to elder care. Very clean facility. Doesn't have an odor. The activities group does a fantastic job of engaging the residents with music, decorations and fun. Another aunt went in for PT after a brain bleed and they had her ready for home in 3 weeks. Nurses are top notch and the medical director is always about. They are great at keeping me updated on everything going on from medication changes to therapy. Avalon Health and Rehabilitation is a small, friendly facility that accepts Medicaid. Most of the staff are genuinely kind and caring — they take time to get to know the residents and make sure they feel comfortable and cared for. You can really tell they love what they do. I visit on a daily basis and have great interactions with the team. The building itself is older, but it’s kept very clean. The rooms are small but have everything the residents need. The dining room is bright and inviting. It serves multiple purposes — meals, social time, and daily activities all happen there. There’s also a large TV in the dining room that residents enjoy. My grandmother was in rehab for two and a half weeks. The staff took good care of her and when she came home she was doing so much better. The routine for medicine delivery was very efficient.

The staff was friendly but they are like most places that are taking advantage of Medicare. Mom had speech therapy added in even though she didn’t need it. Also they are not attentive, let mom pee herself after multiple requests for help. She had a fall in the bathroom and we removed her from there.

I was unable to place my husband here due to his medical situation but Amanda was wonderful and she went above and beyond to help me find a place.
