Autumn Lake Healthcare at Southgate

I want to share what a positive experience we had during my dad’s recent stay at Southgate. While the nursing staff and aides were great and provided solid care, I cannot say enough about Dawn with the Hospitality department—she was truly amazing with my father. Dawn went above and beyond to connect with him, eventually getting him to finally eat and even encouraging him to participate in the activities offered. Beyond her care for him, she was a lifesaver for our family. She stayed in constant contact with my mother, and the frequent phone calls and handwritten notes she left for us were exactly what we needed to settle our nerves. I have to say our experience with Southgate this time around was very different than the past. The staff was extremely helpful and attentive to our family member every needs. The rehab unit worker’s were absolutely amazing especially his therapist Tracy. Dawn, who is running the hospitality’s part of the unit was absolutely a blessing to us. She not only kept us informed, but checked in quite often with us as a family and also with him there on the unit daily. When he was having a little bit of a down day, she made sure she went out of her way to provide him with his favorite snack and drinks, even sat and watched a movie with him just to brighten his day because none of us family was able to be there. It’s improved 100% in the last 5 years. I used to dread visiting my mother back then. Now, since the remodel it really seams to have improved. My mom’s care has also been great. She celebrated her 99th Birthday today and you don’t live that long without great care.

The facility was wonderful in helping with my recovery. The staff was thoughtful and so very helpful. Specially Dawn who made sure she not only got me clothes but anything else I needed or wanted. The kindness was so amazing it surely helped with me recovering faster.

My mom was a patient at Southgate. I couldn’t have had a better experience with my mom’s care. Every single staff member was professional and caring. The facility is extremely clean. The food was plentiful and very good. The PT department is top notch. To nurses,aides,janitors and administrators I thank you.
