Autumn Lake Healthcare at Parkville

My wife has been "stuck" in this facility for about three weeks now. Our experience has not been good. They have small rooms and cram three people in them with only one bathroom! They can do better with housekeeping as it smells a little worse than the typical nursing home. The communication level between the staff, patient and their loved ones is very poor. Myself and my wife who is the patient there are constantly being given the run-around in regards to her discharge, i guess they want to keep her there so they can keep billing the insurance company, They dont provide a tv in the rooms once you go upstairs to the "long term" care unit and they will not return your phone calls, no matter how many messages you leave. The social worker for this facility "Tonya" is never available and also

Employees are very nice very professional they Go out of their way to help you. Nurse was super nothing to much for her our nurse was always helpful. PT. OT and speech therapist was great working with patients. Lots of activities to make the day even better

Staff was friendly and accommodating which is very important. It does need to be updated by removing the outdated wallpaper borders and needs a fresh coat of paint. Hospital bed mattress was old and very lumpy but the staff brought in a comfortable recliner that helped a lot.

I just want to express how grateful I am to the staff in the dementia ward here. They really are proving the very best care possible for my mother. They are kind and compassionate and show monumental levels of patience to all of the residents. Thank you.

And the 1 star is only because I couldn't leave ZERO stars! If you want your love one to be neglected, left in their stool, call lights ignored, and develope pressure sores due to staff not caring for the residents or cleaning them up properly, than this is the place for you. My love one was ignored by staff, not bathed, turned, or repositioned like he shouldve been. He developed a bed sore that was never reported to family and that ultimately ended up becoming stage 4 due to their lack of care. The administration does NOT hold the staff accountable and the Nurse manager is just as bad as the neglectful nurses and GNA's that work there. 0/10 would NEVER recommend anyone to send their loved one here! And this is not even HALF of what we encountered. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!
