Atrium Health Navicent Heart & Vascular Care

My husband has been admitted to this hospital for a week now with post surgery complications, up until today I was satisfied, not happy but I was satisfied with his nurses. Today’s nurse spared to want to be anywhere but at this location. She barely listened to my husband, got visibly upset when he asked about his meds, fusses at him for his NG tube getting displaced, told him that she couldn’t call his doctor because she was already behind when he asked that she look into the timeframe of a procedure that he was counseled and under the impression he would have been given sometime today. I get there is a nursing shortage, but how dare she imply that because of her poor time management she couldn’t care for her patient.

We have had the most AMAZING CARE from every single person! The care that my daddy has recieved during his stay has been great! We got the privilege to also have the pet therapy as well, which was such a wonderful surprise!

I have had the privilege of being an inpatient at Atrium Heart Hospital on three separate occasions. Up until my last stay in March 2024, I had a relatively good opinion of the the staff and technicians. While the doctors, nurses, and food service workers were wonderful; very professional and friendly, one of the transport workers, as well as a nurse tech, and a lab worker who I came in contact with obviously didn't like their positions, had a chip on their shoulders, or some form of behavioral issue and should be disciplined by the hospital administrator for their attitudes. If they don't like their positions, then they should resign, as there are hundreds of others eager to work, and do so with a smile on their face and a pleasant demeanor.

I express profound dissatisfaction with this facility and its staff, including the physicians. Significant communication deficiencies exist. Physicians and nurses fail to actively listen to patients, and nurses do not review patient charts prior to entering the room, resulting in the dissemination of inaccurate patient information to other staff members. Physicians discharging patients and forwarding cardiac prescriptions to another state despite patient declarations of non-return to that state. Further justifications for my rating are extensive. I would rate this facility with the lowest possible score.

I have zero issues with the staff that helped me during my stay. I do however have issues with the instruments being used, they caused me pain that was so unnecessary when quality equipment doesn't cause the pain I had to contend with. I told each staff member the same thing, I apologize for being a pain when lab work is called for. Ladies of the Lab I commend your work with the lousy equipment you have to use.
