Astoria Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation

My mother has been here in this nursing home for 2months and I must say she was at another facility before we came here that had a very high rating and it was less than satisfactory. The care here is five star. In my opinion. All of the aids are very, very considerate and kind. The nursing staff is always going above and beyond the call of duty. The food is is very well prepared and a nice variety of different meals. We are here with my mom every day seven days a week and we see it all. This is a great facility.

I would give this place 0 reviews. My mom was in there for rehabilitation on her hip. They say their therapy program is good. It is not. They do not have enough aides. They neglected my mom drugging her up and her 😴 in a wheelchair which caused her a bedsore on her bottom. She was supposed to have her cpap machine on her machine was on a nightstand and her bed was pushed against the wall where it wouldn't reach. Her bed being against the wall is considered a restraint which they supposedly don't do. When my mom was left in her wheelchair she was often wet with urine. My mom ended up aspirating and was sent to the ER where she later passed...I was informed that the nurse who gave her CPR wasn't CPR certified until after this event. The aides also neglected giving her a shower her last wee

Good place to visit winter after having a stroke for a staff attendant let's do today navigate to everything in mine I suggest if you have a loved one feel safe to take them there

My Mother was there and we visited everyday. I had to search for someone to get clean sheets because they let her lay in pee. We changed her bed.We would walk in and never see an aid or anyone and if we did they were on the phone. They don't check on the people there. Call lights going off for hours. My Sister went and helped several residents because Noone ever went to help them. We took my Mother home. I wouldn't take anyone or anything in to that place... IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR LOVED ONE DON'T GO THERE!

A family member has been here for over a year and it's gone down significantly just in that time, and it wasn't five stars to begin with. It always smells like urine, worse than I've ever smelled in any other nursing home. Also, it's no fault if the nurses, but they are severely understaffed, so the few they have are so burnt out they don't have time to do anything. If they have an excellent one, and there have been several, they're gone within a month
