Mika was absolutely amazing, patient, gentle, and so good at explaining what was happening so I never felt anxious or confused. Dr. Andrea Oaks was just as wonderful: thorough, professional, and really took the time to make sure I felt comfortable and cared for, not rushed. I had one of the worst dental experiences I’ve ever had at this office. They asked me to move my 2pm appointment to 1pm, but I still sat in the waiting room for over an hour before being taken back. I was told the exam and consultation were free, but when I couldn’t complete the X-ray due to pain, they suddenly added a $39 fee. Throughout the entire visit, the staff acted irritated and dismissive anytime I asked a question. Instead of explaining anything, they kept telling me I was being rude even though I was in severe pain and simply trying to understand what was happening. I’m extremely frustrated with my recent experience at Aspen Dental. Initially, I was satisfied with my appointment on Tuesday. I was seen for a cracked tooth and also discussed future treatment plans to maintain a healthy smile. However, after discovering the insurance and billing issue, I am now very upset. At no point during my visit was I informed that only one of my two insurances covers dental and the other does not. That information should have been clearly explained to me before moving forward with anything. Instead, they proceeded with placing only one insurance on my visit summary (which is clearly reflected on the paperwork I was given), qualified me for a financial plan, and had me make an out-of-pocket payment before I left.
