I cannot say enough good things about the Aspen Dental office in Camden, South Carolina. I came in needing a lot done — extractions, alveoloplasty, tori removal, implants, and immediate full dentures — and I was honestly terrified going into it. I had built it up in my head and was expecting the worst. From the moment I walked in, the team made me feel safe and taken care of, but Shavonna (dental assistant) and Dr. Himel truly stood out. Shavonna was calm, kind, and reassuring the entire time. She explained what was happening in a way that didn’t overwhelm me, checked on me constantly, and made sure I was comfortable every step of the way. I had an amazing experience at the Camden Aspen Dental, and I honestly never thought I’d be saying that about a dental visit. I’ve had a long-standing fear of the dentist and was extremely nervous about getting extractions, but from the moment I walked in, the entire staff made me feel safe, heard, and cared for. My wife scheduled an exam with Aspen Dental and waited two months just to be seen. After the exam, they told her she needed to come back for a cleaning, which was another two-week wait. Fine. Annoying, but we dealt with it. The day before her cleaning appointment, Aspen Dental called to “confirm.” My wife works full-time and cannot take phone calls during the day. She missed the call, then called back during her lunch break, during Aspen Dental’s own business hours. No one answered. She left a voicemail clearly stating she was calling to confirm her appointment. The next day, she showed up for her scheduled cleaning, only to be told she didn’t have an appointment anymore.
