Ascension St. Vincent's Health Center - Mandarin

Dr. Ahmed MD Farid at urgent care st Vincent’s mandarin was the rudest doctor I’ve have ever been to. I went in for chest pain and he said I came in for a “cough”. He pressed a stethoscope to my chest for less than a 2 seconds, never told me to breathe deeply and was out the door. I have been sick for over a week and already diagnosed with strep, and now was experiencing chest pain so I went in for a chest x ray. Ahmed Farid was Extremely unhelpful, no bedside manner and was in and out with a few minutes. Almost as like he’s a doctor that is afraid of sick people. You could tell he did not want to been near me, He didn’t feel for lymph nodes or complete any type of exam. After he came back he rushed through saying I only had a virus, told me to feel better and left. He refused to explain

This was my first follow up with my new doctor on on San Jose. It went very well. We’ve discussed an implemented a new medication for my type two diabetes. I’m curious to see how that turns out. My blood work was outstanding according to the doctor, but my A1c was eight and I usually have it between five and six so that alarmed me a little bit. I welcomed trying something new. I saw the pain management doctor that he asked me to go to and had an MRI done. They want to give me some injections. I have appointment with a new Podiatrist soon and an appointment with a new endocrinologist soon. I see my ophthalmologist soon. I’m having a colonoscopy at Borlan Grover soon. My daughter was seen in the ER at Ascension St. Vincent's in January 2024. Recently, I have been receiving messages from a debt collector related to that visit. I thought it was spam but looked up the company they are legitimate. When I called St. Vincent's billing customer service to ask about the debt collection messages, they informed me that we owe $800. Due to complete process failure when we were checked into the hospital, I haven't received a single communication related to this bill. The customer service agent confirmed they were sending letters to our old address which we haven't lived at in almost 6 years. Although I “checked in” on line, I arrived early for my annual exam. I was called fairly quickly, processed efficiently, and told that the Doctor would be with me shortly. Dr Sharp was both friendly and professional. She took the time to ask and answer questions and provide explanations, making good use of her time and mine without making me feel rushed.

After Walmart Health was shut down in 2024, I was without a PCP for months and most places had a long waiting list. Scheduling was online and easy, the women at the front desk were quick and kind, Dr. Sharp was incredible and made me feel heard as I advocated for my health and listened with care. The medical assistant Ms. Becker was super kind and comforting, listened to my concerns and was very knowledgable and gentle. I’m very happy with Ascension Primary!!!
