Ascension Living Our Lady of Peace

My dad was transferred to Our Lady of Peace from another facility and for the first time in a week I could breathe a sigh of relief and relax. As soon as I walked in the door I was transported to a beautiful, calm and cheerful environment. OLP exceeded all of my expectations from the wide open spaces, caring staff (staff was caring at his previous location just too few and overworked), bright clean hallways and windows, and spacious rooms! I am at PEACE !

My uncle was admitted on a friday then became unresponsive sat.The staff were so kind.concerned.cried with my aunt and cousin.She was a nurse all her life.same for myself and our daughter.We witness such grace care compassion concern respect the kind we hoped we delivered to so many.We received it back 10 fold.He was given such dignity by all the staff no matter their title. I personally thanked the staff we had during those rough days.I was so grateful.my heart was full and I told that to the staff.We thpught he was going in for some rehab and respite for my aunt but Gid had other plans.Thank you is such a small thing but needs to be conveyed to the second flr staff.Outstanding display of human kindness professionalism and heart felt care.

Horrible! First day there for rehab for a broken hip my family member was left in a transport wheelchair for seven hours! Nurse come in for five minutes asked questions and left. Family member put call light on several times asking for assistance to the bathroom no one come, family member called me crying and ask for me to call the nursing station for help because they kept turn the call light off without even responding. I called and spoke to the nurse about my concerns she was extremely rude and seemed annoyed because I asked her why therapy hadn’t been in to assess my family member within those seven hours and why no one has been into her room despite her calling several times over the seven hours to use the bathroom. My wife was transferred from ECMC to Our Lady of Peace with care and understanding for her comfort. When she arrived at OLP she was greeted as if she were family. She was promptly placed in her room where she was well received by the staff and nurses. Very pleased with the exemplary service.

Visited a long time friend. She was nicely dressed; room neat; no areas that had the “nursing home smell”. Staff were very friendly and the residents seemed content. The one negative was lack of staff available to assist with toileting. We waited at least 1/2 hour and the staff person was occupied with the person in the next room. I know it is not possible to have enough staff to avoid patients waiting for care. As a retired nurse I am well aware of the challenges that all health care facilities face. Bottom line - my friend is happy with your facility and appears well cared for.
