We had gone there for unfortunately not good circumstances. Our boy Duke wasn’t doing too well, so we decided to take him in quickly. They were very helpful with everything we needed. Duke needed to be on a gurney and they brought it right out to our truck. They took such good care of him and even did after he had passed. We were so heartbroken but they explained everything so well to us that we were able to fully understand what was going on with him. We got him cremated and they gave him back to us in such a lovely urn with a beautiful note. I am very happy and grateful for the care that we have received with everything that had happened. We will definitely recommend them to our friends and family. Thank you again to the staff and doctors for taking such good care of our boy Duke. 🫶🏻🐾🐕
Phenomenal staff who deeply care about animals. I brought my heeler in to be seen last night after he had a seizure. He is a reactive and was initially scared, growling, anxious, and resistant.. which is stressful for both him and I. They used low-stress handling techniques, treats, calm movements, accommodations, and made intentional efforts to reduce his fear so they could make him comfortable while evaluating him. The result? My previously terrified dog plopped down in the vet techs lap on the floor for cuddles while he was being evaluated. They not only prioritized his comfort, they were also very thorough with his evaluation and treatment plan - treating him as if he were their own baby. Every single one of them. I watched this incredible staff run around all night tirelessly trying
Let’s preface that this is the only animal hospital operating late night hours. If it weren’t for this place, many emergencies (including my own) would go unseen. With that said, my personal experience here was great, but by a leading factor. Rivers, who i spoke to on the phone and in person, was very helpful and reassuring. I felt like i could talk to her easily, she answered as many questions as i had with spirit. When i was getting worried and anxious from waiting, she took it upon herself to check on my baby. She was the highlight of my experience because of how insightful and understanding she was. Thank you Rivers and team for helping me and my baby.
Review of Animal Emergency Hospital of the Strand I am compelled to share my disappointing experience with Animal Emergency Hospital of the Strand, which I believe highlights a critical issue in the provision of veterinary care for our beloved pets. Recently, I faced an urgent situation with my Yorkie, who was screaming and coughing. In a state of panic, I reached out to the hospital seeking immediate help. Unfortunately, my experience was met with a stark emphasis on financial constraints rather than the compassion I hoped for in this critical moment. Upon calling, I was informed by the receptionist that the initial consultation would cost $170, which did not include any additional tests or treatments that might be necessary. Given my recent job loss, I expressed my concern about the f
Was there when they open at 6pm 10-1-25. First there and only a few people all night. My cat was lethargic and possibly anemia we believed from fleas. At the very check in I was shocked and verbally asked them if it was really $170 to walk in and one of the women at the desk gave me the look. The other explained I could look into Care Credit and Scratch as payment options so I immediately started applying as they took my cat off to put her on oxygen. Then they sat my 16 yo and I in an exam room. 6:22-6:59 I did both me and my children's dad apps for Care Credit, Scratch and another that I was later informed they wouldn't take anyways. All denied. At 7:34 I'm given a tally for treatment. I didn't have that kind of money. Vet says its probably blood loss requiring transfusions and that she's
