Angel Oak Nursing & Rehabilitation Center

This place is terrible, the building is old and outdated and smells horrible. The night people are mean and nasty, they told my mother not to bother them for help going to the bathroom or anything else that they didn't feel like helping anyone. The only doctor I ever meet didn't seem to know anything about my mom, he said to ask a nurse or someone else. They lie on the insurance paperwork and said she was walking down the hall and stuff and she hadn't gotten out of bed in days. I watched the same trash and blood splatter stay on the floor for over 2 weeks. When she first got there there was 2 rooms and 4 people that had to share 1 toilet that wasn't cleaned for days and smelled that way. NIGHT NURSE WAS ROUGH WITH MY GRANDMOTHER! Yes you read that right, it happened around 4am when she had a bathroom accident. Angel oak didn’t contact me or her sons at all when it happened. We learned it from my grandmother. They wanted to push it under the rug and keep it hush hush. My grandmother is a 90 pound woman who can’t move very well. It takes her a little bit to get up and get moving. From what I heard the nurse has been there for 20 years allegedly. So who knows how many people had to go through this. They gave my grandmother an ultimatum, the “nurse” could be fired or my grandmother could file a police report. Both should have been done no questions asked. Called this facility and left a voicemail for admissions coordinator Kendra to call me back regarding a bed for my mother. Never received a call. Called back this morning and asked if they have a Medicaid bed and she answers no! They are far and few between and I don’t keep a waiting list either. I said so how do I go about getting one. She answers just call back I guess. Her tone was not comforting in the slightest bit and crass. If this is the response you get before admitting a family member to this facility don’t bother.

My mom Ruby Davis was in rehab here. I can’t thank all the employees enough for all of their help. Love how the activity personal Peggy Gathers and Jenny always included my mom in activities and helped feed her. Thank you for making her stay a lot easier. 😘🙏

I’m absolutely love the care I received at Angel Oak Rehab. The building maybe older than the new ones but the care was unbelievable. From the moment the transport dropped me off I had so many people taking care of me. I feel truly blessed by the care of the Nursing Staff. I wish I would have gotten their names to add to this. But there was one that I did get and her name is Sarah Brown. I think Sarah is a Nurse’s Aide not sure exactly her title. But she always went above and beyond her duties with her care of me. And I noticed her smile and how she treated other patients there. I think that she worked there over 23 years. .
