Dr Cannestra is a wonderful surgeon with great bedside manner. He did my spinal fusion in 2023 that due to my body not fusing needed a revision a few months later. Its 2025 and I have found out I'm still not fully fused and my interbody cage is in an bad spot in a bad position. Its causing significant pain and leg swelling but no surgeon is willing to help or touch another surgeons work so I'm stuck being miserable. I do wish he was still with his old practice and could help!

I am J. Dixon, the wife of the account holder. Dr. Cannestra is a god-send, an angel in the form of a man! I am so so thankful and so grateful to have had him as my surgeon. He has excellent bedside manners. He took the time to explained the cause of my back pain and what he needed to do to fix it in simple language. In less than 24 hours after my procedure, i was walking. Four days after my procedure, I walked outside for 20 minutes. Dr. Cannestra has changed the quality of my life! Would I recommend Dr. Cannestra? 100% yes! On a scale of 1 to 10, I would give him 10! I cannot say enough wonderful things about Dr. Cannestra!

Singing praises for Dr Cannestra and his staff! He was the third neurosurgeon that I consulted with, before making a final decision for my back surgery. He had the least minimal approach and put things in a way, that was very clear to understand and was ultimately easy to a decision. Dr Cannestra was clearly my #1 pick. He’s got GREAT bedside manner and brings an enormous amount of experience. Additionally - his staff member Belinda is incredible! Her communication with me and coordination for ALL aspects of surgery was TOP NOTCH! She continued to go ABOVE & BEYOND. She even reached out to my wife multiple time after surgery today, just to check on me AND even asked if we’d been able to get dinner. There was zero doubt that she would have figured a way to bring us dinner in our hotel. Th

In 2015, Dr. Cannestra performed a 2 level fusion on my lower spine at L4-S1 due to severe herniated discs. I was only 49 years old so I was very concerned about my future abilities. He told me that I would be able to have a normal life after surgery once I completely healed. The alternative was to not have surgery and live the rest of my life in constant pain every day. In the 2 years before surgery, the pain was so bad that I could not sit, stand or walk for long periods of time. On some days I could not go up a flight of stairs or carry more than 15 pounds. I tried anything possible to avoid a fusion. I had pain medication, physical therapy, epidural injections, radio frequency ablation, nerve blocks, and a micro-discectomy. Finally, I chose to have the fusion. When I met Dr Cannestra,

Worst decision of my life. Surgery caused permanent nerve damage to my leg and my back is still messed up. Never should have listened to him. His cavalier, arrogant and holier-than-thou attitude is what contributed to the nerve damage. He would not respond to me and continued to prescribe muscle relaxers instead of address the problem. My PT questioned his lack of response to which Dr. Cannestra replied “And what medical school did he attend?” He then proceeded to do exactly what my PT recommended, however, it was too late. Four months after my first surgery, he had to operate a second time to free up a nerve which was further damaged because of the time between surgeries. Furthermore, he made statements on the medical records that I believe to be false …whether intentional or accident
