Amara Dental of Toms River

I am editing my review from 1 star to 2. I wrote a 1 star review for sending me a bill for the service that I never received, and for having extremely hard time reaching their office over the phone. First, to cancel my appointment in January I had to call multiple days in a row multiple times a day, and ended up talking to a very rude lady. Second, it took me multiple attempts over 2 days to reach the office (and leaving a voice mail when no one called me back). Finally, when I was able to reach them, I was told that the bill that I received is not really a bill, it's a program that I can opt out from. Why are you opting me in without my knowledge on the first place and sending me a bill? The other thing I would like to mention is the doctors. I didn't have any issues with the dental ass

Not sure what the heck happened here but they have completely crashed and burned over the last 6 months. It first started when I received a text stating I owed money which the office said ignore. Then we had our appointments canceled THREE times AN HOUR BEFORE the appt because there was either no dental hygienist or the dentist on staff wasn’t credentialed for our insurance. Totally inconvenienced with work and pulling my child from school for nothing! Luckily they’re closing and we found a new provider that was so accommodating and got us new patient appointments so soon. Happy we don’t have to switch to their so called “sister site”.

If I could give 0 stars I would. Horrible office. Every time I go there is a different dentist. There is a different diagnosis. There is a different secretary or no secretary. No one answers the phone or calls back. NOW they are closing, which I am not surprised about. They want to charge me $12 even though I paid for my visit in full. Highly dissatisfied and had already moved to another dentist prior to the text they were closing. Good riddance.

Not sure what happened to this place, but no one ever answers the phone and no one has called me back about the voicemail that I left. The reason why I’m trying to call is because I keep getting notifications about money that I owe when I haven’t been to this office in nearly 2 years. there is a charge for concierge service For a patient visit on 1/29/25 however I have not been there since mid 2023. If there is an easier way to resolve this than by calling please let me know because I am not paying for service I didn't get.

The hygienist was friendly, efficient and personable. I felt very comfortable. The dentist came in to review my X-rays and teeth. He failed to introduce himself- did his job- made recommendations and left. Never had that happen before! Went back one week later to have the work done. Same dentist walks in! No introduction- got the Novocain, followed by four shots. No introduction, no words of encouragement such as “this is going to pinch” etc. The good news is that he was done in less than 30 minutes for work done on 3 teeth. The bad news is that he is an extremely task oriented dentist whose name I still do not know. If this rating was purely for the hygienist she’d get a “5”. The dentist must’ve been absent on the bedside manner training day at college. It matters. It counts. It builds
