Alpine Healthcare Center

My mother was treated very well at Alpine. The caregivers were very attentive to her needs, especially when we all knew it was nearing the end of her life. We were not crazy about the food (the reason for four stars), but we were all treated with respect. Too many caregivers to thank by name - afraid to miss someone - but they should know it meant a lot to us for their care of my mother in her final months.

Alpine has continued to make great progress. The staff are very caring, the building has new management overseeing housekeeping which has made a lot of improvement. The facility is clean and the entire team at Alpine strive to give their residents the best care and a clean, comfortable, safe, home-like environment!!

The staff are absolutely lazy. Management doesn't seem to care about their staff lack of respect between each other and towards residents. Higher ups seem to care more about keeping the facility functioning then giving true care for the residents. It's disturbing to notice how the higher ups absolutely do not care.

I would give zero stars if that was an option In the span of 1 week: my mother's oxygen level was up way higher than it should have been and she fell out of bed( who knows how long she was alone and on the floor for before they noticed) This was day 1. The higher ups had a "meeting" with her to tell her the insurance wasn't going to pay for her rehab stay if she didn't try to participate in rehab. The reason? She felt horrible and they only took labs to find out why when I said something. I also had to wait for 2 nurses to finish their personal conversation before they would acknowledge me at the desk (I was trying to get some crackers for my mother) . My brother, who has advanced Alzheimer’s disease, has been a resident at Alpine Healthcare Center in Keene NH for 2 years. He has remarkably cognizant moments, the good, and other times of confusion and aggression, the not so good. The one constant in his life is the unfailing compassion of the Alpine staff at all levels. From those who constantly wipe up the floors and other surfaces, to the laundry staff, to the hands-on care givers, to fellow residents (not staff, but a vital source of support), all help him on this perilous journey, every day. Although I too have some not so good days, my appreciation for all is limitless, and I thank them from the bottom of my heart. In an era of rapidly shrinking budgets and staff shortages, Alpine staff persist in treating residents with respect an
