Alaris Health at Hamilton Park

I did 4 months of physical rehabilitation at Alaris after recovering from a major illness. The nursing staff are very knowledgeable and helpful. The therapists helped me recover my strength and build muscle. My aide Miss Singh always knows what I need without me having to ask. She is caring and professional. I don't think I would have gotten as far as I have without her. I carry plenty of great memories of this place. Many of the staff are people I truly love and respect and I'll never forget them.

Please don’t waste your time in sending your loved ones here. Cleaner - Waved her broom as she sweeped the air but not the floor. The broom never touched floor, waving it like a wand. She literally walked on top of garbage. Short staff - My father was left 30 minutes with a dirty diaper. The diaper was so full, the liquid stool leaked out and spread all over the bed. He had pressed the emergency button more than two times and no one showed up. The excuses were "they’re on break or eating" but no backup on the floor. & If there was backup they’ll be in the recreation room, on their phones laughing. When someone finally showed up, the nurse aid hesitated and did not want to enter the room because of the mess and smell. He stepped out with a face grossed out. So unprofessional and unethica

They do not afford wet wipes like other hospitals, they wet harsh paper towels to clean you. Dr Levine comes to visit at 6am or earlier and is very quick with his visits. Often understaffed especially nights and weekends. Head nurse Nadi was a nightmare. Missed feedings for me roughly once per three days. Halls smell awful - keeping visitor visits very short.

My grandfather has been living in the alaris health center for a few years now. The other patients are very polite and caring. The staff is super friendly and helpful, and they have helped my grandfather tremendously. However, I do have a couple concerns. On multiple occasions, when we have entered the lobby, the person behind the desk at the sign in has been asleep. Out cold. Another issue I have come across is the elevators. They often reek of what smells like paint or sewer water. I’ve only ever been in the one on the right, so I don’t know if that goes for both of them. Overall, I am pleased with Alaris health, and I do hope they continue to improve and do the great things they have been doing.

My mother stayed at Alaris at Hamilton Park Nursing Home in Jersey City for two weeks for physical therapy. She could not stand or walk on her own. When she left Hamilton Park it was by RWJBH JCMC ambulance to the ER. She had developed several infections that became sepsis and had to be entibated in the ER. She is still fighting to breath on her own, and still cannot stand or walk. The staff were not aggressive in changing her diapers once she was sitting for quiet sometime with out being changed. When I arrived to visit after work I would always find her sitting in soiled diaper. Be careful where you send a family member who is disabled and cannot request help.
