I came in 1/16/2026 around 5am with my 10month old with over 105 fever. I planned on doing vallet being her fever was so high. Well I couldn't because your co worker frank in vallet was in the chair hunched over in the corner appeared to be sleeping. That's completely unacceptable bc I know if I was to come during the day the other works would be present and asking/ offering if it was needed. I am in disbelief that he was sleeping! Please do better FRANK

Very bad experience at Akron Children’s ER. We waited for 2 and a half hours while my child was crying continuously, not eating, and vomiting. The lack of urgency and poor communication were extremely frustrating and concerning. Staff need serious improvement in basic communication skills and empathy. It honestly felt like they did not care about my child at all. This was not the level of care I expected from a children’s hospital.

My experience tonight was top tier from the moment we walked in. I wish I could of gotten everyone's names but literally every encounter was great. We came in in the middle of them recieving a trauma and ALL staff gave clear communication the entire time about our wait and the situation. Loved that! Our attending doctor tonight was Dr. H. Kramin, (forgive me I forget his last name) but the resident we saw mostly was Anthony. The two of them were amazing but Anthony dealt with most of our emotional side of our situation. He gave great empathy and understanding, he really truly cared (both of them) and despite the businessnes they said we would still get top care and we absolutely did. My interaction with Dr. May the ER doctor and Dr. May the GI doctor was extremely disappointing. The ER Dr. May came across as rude, unprofessional, and dismissive during our visit. Instead of providing reassurance or clear information, she repeatedly stated that she did not know and needed to look up the condition. As a parent, especially in an emergency situation, this was very unsettling. When I asked questions and expressed that I wanted to seek a second opinion, she appeared frustrated. Shortly after, she left the room and stated I was “refusing care,” even though I was simply advocating for my child and requesting more clarity before making decisions. This was our first visit to Akron Children’s Hospital. The entire staff, including nurses (Natalie), techs, and physicians (Dr. Sam) were so down-to-earth, compassionate, and thorough in their care. We felt at ease and well cared for throughout out entire stay. The check-in and rooming process occurred within one hour of us arriving, and staff checked in on our son frequently throughout his time there. The workup, results, and next steps were explained in an accessible manner, and they provided a positive, family-centered decision making environment. We highly recommend this hospital, and are so grateful to the team of providers in helping our family!
