Affordable Animal Hospital

Ask you to call ahead, my cat was having an asthma attack bad enough to turn his lips blue and and when I called they said “affordable animal hospital please hold,” had me on hold for 7 minutes just to hang up on me, then wouldn’t answer the phone when I called back. Went to Blue Pearl instead and the second I walked in the door they took him and saved his life. Shame on you guys for being willing to let animals die. Update: Blue Pearl in Lakewood was phenomenal. Worked with us on pricing and got Zodiac on medication, and referred us to a few primary vets. I am so grateful for the team there and highly recommend them for emergency services. I have been bringing my cats into this veterinary hospital for all their vaccinations and check ups. Dr Walia is like a cat whisperer. My cats are so docile in his gentle care. When my cat had a bad fall and needed leg surgery Dr Walia skillfully performed a total ACL surgery and my cat is now jumping and running and has no pain anymore. I brought my dog in for hair loss and specifically explained that she was not itching, had no fleas, and had already been evaluated by another veterinarian. I shared that I suspected a thyroid issue based on prior discussion with my regular vet. During the visit, Dr. Walia repeatedly pushed for an allergy injection costing over $300 despite my concerns that this did not match my dog’s symptoms. When I declined and asked to discuss alternatives, the conversation became argumentative rather than collaborative. When I chose not to proceed with treatment and attempted to leave, Dr. Walia stated, “I knew you had no money when you came in here,” and told me to “go back to the other vet.” This was extremely unprofessional and inappropriate. Not sure why there's so many bad reviews. I've only had positive experiences. Granted, its usually not positive circumstances that cause you to take an animal to the vet in the first place... Dr. was knowledgable and compassionate. Our senior dog had a teeth cleaning/extraction and an ear hematoma drained. Procedure went well, pricing was straightforward. Dr. took extra care and monitoring due to our dog's age.

Extremely rude front desk receptionist was very short and wanted to get off the phone immediately without any bit of pleasantries as if it’s too hard for her to do the job when I’m being nice. Saying “Yea ok” then immediately hanging up after I said thank you is rude. Not to mention the pricing she gave me for the services were anything but affordable $700 for the spay and $200 for vaccinations?? That’s twice the amount of other clinics/hospitals. Needless to say go elsewhere!!
