Advocare Schnall Pediatric Ophthalmology

Ive been taking my kids here for years but lately its so hard to get an appointment even with them adding a new dr to the group. Im a single mom, I literally can not afford to take off of work for an appointment and they close at 4pm which is what time I get done work. I scheduled an appointment for 2 out of my 4 kids for spring break bc they won't allow me to schedule all my kids on the same day for some reason, then they called me the next day to cancel my appt. Im currently looking for a new Dr now. This place has went downhill, which is sad bc I love Dr. Schnall.

Only thing I have to say don't plan on doing anything else for the day when you have an appointment. Came in at 135pm for a 145 appointment planning for hopefully no longer then an hour. Been here for 2 hours where we were seen for a minute had drops put in (told we need to wait for the drops to work) and waited over an hour. I wouldn't know what to say about the doctor cause we only saw him so briefly.

My experience my 2 special needs children was awful. The entire staff is unprofessional. They run the office like it's a circus. 1 Dr. For 5 of 6 kids. This guy missed the class on working with kids while in med school. Doesn't look up doesn't make eye contact doesn't acknowledge a child saying hi Dr, hi Dr what's your name. An autistic child, my autistic child. They pinned my other son to the ground to administer eye drops. Twenty five minutes later realized they missed and had to do it again, meanwhile there are a 4 and 5 year old waiting the entire time. My son has red marks on his face. They didn't give us the disposable protective glasses they're supposed to give after someone gets the drops, it was a day filled with winter sun. The most unprofessional and unpleasant experience ever. The Dr does not even make eye contact, looks down and has no manner of which to relate to young children or administer eye drops, much less the exam, making the experience more difficult. In addition the manner in which my grandchildren , one of whom has special needs, were treated was upsetting. I do not recommend this practice.

I'm honestly shocked at these bad reviews. This is our second pediatric eye doctor and I am far more impressed with level of care that we received here. My daughter is very shy and she felt comfortable immediately. She dislikes the eye drops and the assistant was extremely kind and patient. The facility was clean... It's an older office but it wasn't dirty as previous reviews had mentioned.
