If I could give this place zero stars, I would. My 63-year-old mom went to Abbeyville after breaking her hip. She was never rehabilitated and was moved to long-term care — the worst mistake of my life. The staff rarely answered call buttons, never got her out of bed, and ignored her care needs. The facility has mice, and my mom suffered from multiple UTIs, infections, and bedsores. I filed complaints with the Department of Health and Office of Aging, but nothing changed. My mom’s health rapidly declined, and after only five months there, she passed away. Please keep your loved ones far away from Abbeyville. No one deserves the neglect she experienced here.

Jessica McCoy from the business office is fantastic to guide you through the insurance and medical coverage information. She is kind, moves quickly to get things submitted and keeps you well informed. The aides and nurses have been great!

I would give this place zero stars if I could. My mom was here for a couple weeks, I want to start off by saying the PT department was really nice and some of the nurses and aides she had were absolutely amazing. On the other hand her AC unit that was in her room was covered in black mold and her oxygen tank was right next to it and when I made a complaint it wasn’t taken care of for 3 days .She had this one night time aide that I didn’t like taking care of her, this aide is so lazy and should not be in health care at all she has no compassion, negligent, unsanitary and you can tell she doesn’t care too much about her job. She would leave my mom laying in her own urine for hours to the point she got burn like rashes , didn’t clean my mom up at all if she used a bed pan or soiled herself. O

The nurses & nurses aides work very hard on the rehab wing to take good care of the patients. Abbeyville gets a “4 for nursing care. Nursing supervisor, “Gwen” was outstanding responding to our needs and requests as well as nurse “Andrea”, “Erin “, “Crystal” and the transportation coordinator. All the PT, OT providers were also very kind, knowledgeable and compassionate. Sadly, there are not enough nursing staff to get to call bells and needs in a timely manner on evenings and weekends. The facility, however, and administration is a “1”. I believe that Genesis Corporation needs address the problems in a facility that is broken down/dirty and sorely in need of attention. I am also disappointed in the fact that no administrator identified themselves to family while there. I spent over a week
