1st Advantage Dental - Latham

DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!! Place is really only good for cleaning. They will tell you one thing and do another. I had 2 minor filings i needed to get done and when i got home I rubbed my tongue around my teeth and it felt wrong and hurt only to notice my entire filing was GONE and I’m missing a portion of my tooth! I go in the next day as they open and was told they cannot get me in till Monday. (Went in Thursday) meanwhile the place was EMPTY!!! Only one doctor that is out of state who permanently works there. Meanwhile i have very healthy teeth overall and haven't had a filing in years. 0 companion from the front desk. I am in a lot of pain and seemed to just not care. Also the Dr that did my filing was a temporary employee and was gone the day.

I had been a patient here for a few years now, coming in every six months for routine cleanings with the same doctor. Each visit, I was told there were a few small spots but nothing that needed treatment, and I trusted that assessment. Eventually, that doctor left the practice, which I only learned when I came in for my next appointment. At that visit, a different doctor examined me and took X-rays, then told me I had a cavity that needed to be filled as soon as possible. I scheduled the appointment right away. When I came in expecting a filling, yet another doctor reviewed the same X-rays and immediately said it might be more than a filling and could require a crown. The office staff is amazing, always professional yet kind & friendly. They take all the time needed to explain the treatment plan, insurance & other payment options. Although there are a number of dentist in the practice each one gives the best care possible & takes into account my personal anxiety going to the dentist. As a Registered Nurse I know good care when I see it & receive it & 1st Advantage is the best.

I have been a patient of this facility for about 40 years. In recent years, I have been disappointed with services and have been actively seeking another denral facility. Recently, however, the service and treatment I received during my appointment were beyond my expectations. And, I'm no longer looking to change and once again, I am recommending them to family and friends.
