Dr.Pierson is very kind and knowledgeable, but the policies of his office are despicable (which is why I gave it such a low rating). I have health insurance that would have covered my entire foot surgery and yet they required a 250.00 deposit before doing the surgery. I did not have the money for the deposit (I live social security check to social security check), so I was denied health services. Even though Carolina Foot and Ankle Specialists are under the UNC Health System umbrella (a not for profit), the Carolina Foot and Ankle Specialists clinics are "for profit". The clinic has the right to ask for that deposit, but it does not mean it is fair and ethical. I truly believe that the UNC Health System should disban Carolina Foot and Ankle Specialists from their network and I will make
