Yale New Haven Health Urgent Care Groton

The team I saw yesterday was fantastic, and I especially want to shout out the very friendly nurse who helped me - I really wish I got her name. It was really fun to chat, she clearly explained everything I needed to know, and I felt much less nervous by the end. Then the doctor who helped me was also super kind and thorough, answering all my questions and quickly getting me the exact help that I needed. Grateful for their help and would recommend here to anyone! UPDATE: I saw my PCP two days later and the doctor at this facility COMPLETELY MISSED an ear infection and a sinus infection that I had. Yes the staff here really was friendly & quick, but I was really disappointed that I could’ve been taking medicine and healing more quickly as the infection ended up lasting weeks :(

Today I learned that Scheduling a time does not mean that you have an actual appointment so even though I arrived on time, I had to wait an hour because people who had arrived ahead of me, some without reserving in advance, they were seen before me. I could understand if a walk-in truly needed urgent care then they should be seen immediately, but no one waiting in front of me seem to have any urgent issues. This is ridiculous. A level of triage should be performed so that people who make appointments are seen ahead of those that don’t. Very happy with the Dr and the courteous staff

Wait time in the actual waiting room was a bit much, but it was probably due to my not having an appointment. So, no problem there. The MA, Ms. Rowe, was personable, polite, and efficient. She listened to my concerns and asked appropriate, relevant questions. When the PA, Sheila, came in, she too was polite and professional. It is unfailingly clear that she enjoys her job: helping people. She listened to me, made appropriate eye contact, and asked relevant questions. I did not feel rushed or condescended to at all – not unlike other medical professionals I have encountered. These people are gold!

The staff was very warm and friendly, which I appreciated very much. Unfortunately my appointment was almost 2 hours late due to the fact that they had two emergencies with young children. I remained very calm and relaxed and spent time in my car, listening to music while I waited for my turn. When it was finally my time I was greeted and even thanked for my patience.. I felt as though the nurse who was taking my vitals was very thorough and asked many questions and we had a lovely conversation. I will definitely go there again when its needed.

It is very easy to make an appointment, if you just walk-in it may take about 2 hours to be seen especially after 3:00pm, appointments are best. Everyone was kind, courteous, and professional. I especially appreciate that they are very thorough with my care. Thanks again for all that you do!
