WVU Medicine Grant Memorial Hospital

I went to be seen for a possible Testicular torsion and asked for a male doctor and was able to be seen but they didn’t do anything but check my urine and told me to come back the next day for an ultrasound and when did I asked for one of the male technicians that came out and got people for the scans since I’m more comfortable with male doctors especially with what I was there for at that moment and was told that only two women could do it and after they had me stay there to talk with the male doctor I had the day prior to have him do it he went back and forth with telling me to go somewhere else and trying to scare me into letting the women do it even though I told them I wasn’t comfortable with it and was just wished good luck with finding a hospital that would have a male doctor/techni

We had to make an Emergency Room visit while we were visiting family in Mt Storm. Although we did not have to wait. And the hospital seemed clean. No one introduced themselves and so we weren't sure if it was the cleaning guy or a nurse that was taken care of us. The doctor mumbled as he came in in his black hoodie with his arms tucked into his sleeves and although I think he said his name nobody could understand what he said. Thankfully my daughter felt better when we left but it sure was a creepy experience.

If you see that low review rating, believe it because it is true. If I was having a heart attack I would still do my best to drive elsewhere. The receptionist in the E.D. was rude during my visit and policies in place made this my least favorite hospital in all of WV. Also, the billing department is lazy and would rather place an account with collections instead of billing the right people. My "insurance" is the federal government. As a service connected veteran, I am not financially responsible for any service related care. No matter how many times I told them this on the phone, they just act ignorant and talk down instead of calling the right people. There truly is no "care" in the Healthcare services this place provides.

Sad what happened to this Hospital! Use to go there when we had our cabin. They were nice and caring. Now these reviews. Used to be good, what happened? When we had our cabin I was there twice. Nicest doctors and nurses. How did it get worse? Terrible to hear!

0 STARS!!! The absolute worse experience. I was in extreme pain with my toe. They sent in a nurse practitioner, which I was not asked if it was OK with me. I was then misdiagnosed with gout and put on the wrong medication for what was going on. I'll drive to Winchester before I ever go in there again. This is not the first time I've had bad experiences with this ER. I'm done!!
