William Newton Pediatrics | Dr. Todd Peters

Dr. Peters and Dr. Thielen are just fantastic. It doesn't matter who we see, we get the same great care! Dr. Peters came in to do the assessment on our newborn in the hospital and was very thorough and knowledgeable. I'd trust him with all of my babies, any age!

Disheartening Experience with Dr. Todd Peters My recent visit to Dr. Todd Peters at Williams Newton Hospital in Winfield, KS, on October 25, 2024, was deeply disappointing and left me feeling undervalued as a parent seeking care for my child. Despite arriving on time for an appointment at 11:15 , I found that Dr. Peters showed up late (11:40), and was not seen until 11:45am which set a negative tone for the visit. During the consultation, I was met with condescension when asking basic questions. Rather than feeling supported, I felt belittled. At one point, he stated that I needed to make additional appointments for my concerns, claiming he only had 30 minutes for wellness visits and that I was taking up too much of his time—even though I had only been in the room with him for 15 minutes

Dr. Peters completely missed all of my son's signs his health was going south. His office never took our concerns seriously and completely overlooked and then blatantly ignored all the warnings that something was wrong. His staff spoke so disrespectfully to us, and as new parents to a baby who has been a medical mystery, we truly needed help. Instead, his team chose to belittle us and tell us, ‘he is fine; just watch him.’ and ‘We need to go back to square one; I think he is normal, and you’re just making a big deal over nothing.’ and MORE! After taking him to Children's Mercy in Kansas City, we finally discovered he had a brain cyst which had been causing some of his problems, on top of a rare genetic condition. We switched pediatricians, and they have found more answers and remedies for

My one year old son has been healthy and an easy baby to care for so the check ups were fine at this office. However, as soon as my son actually got sick and I needed my doctor's help, he refused to see my son for a secondary visit, sent in a prescription without even speaking to me or explaining what it was for, and the only reason I ever got a diagnosis was because I took him to the ER the same day Dr. Peters refused to see him. I'm a first time mom and I was justifiably scared and felt alone and was basically told to figure it out myself. There's also a specific nurse who is so hateful?? Idk why you would work as a nurse if you're just going to be rude to everyone. I will never come back here and will never recommend anyone to come here.

Worst doctor ever! I've never felt so belittled in my life. We will NOT be back. He needs to get educated on autism before passing judgement on the parents.
