Western Reserve Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center

This place is the worst facility in the world. They continuously ignore doctor’s orders on charts, make huge medication errors, ignore patients who want or need to be cleaned up, often for 4 plus hours. The nursing staff walked off early on one occasion leaving 130 patients without medical attention. The PT staff does not work well with the patient making no progress. I reported this facility to the PA Dept of Health so many times and yet they still operate. God help you if you send your loved one there. That person will get horrible care and there’s nothing you can do about their negligence.

The staff are SO kind and they genuinely care about their patients. I was there for several days and watched them care for my dad with patience, humor & compassion, despite being overworked and understaffed. Vanessa and Lara especially worked tirelessly the entire time I was there: I would want them caring for my family. The building is old but this place has it where it counts.

My husband and I had a trip planned from April 29th - May 5th. We were informed this past Wednesday through my mother's Medicaid case worker that Western Reserve would be willing to take my mom for respite care. Plans finalized, etc. Then yesterday, April 27th I was informed by the case worker that Western Reserve would not be taking her. And I'm sure that had to do with the fact that she has Medicaid and not private pay. Trip had to be canceled because of this last minute decision. So thank you Western Reserve for your decision. That was awesome!! We appreciate it. Hopefully no one that ever works there or anyone for that matter ever needs a loved one to go to Western Reserve for care. Maybe if you have the money then they'd be willing to care for the elderly. If not, you might as well

My mother was admitted to Western Reserve for rehabilitation following a hospital stay. It was horrible. 1- They never got her out of bed. She was there for 6 days. The nurses kept deflecting by saying that PT needed to evaluate her. PT never came. 2- She developed a significant ear ache on Thursday evening and I requested she be seen by a Doctor. They kept telling me all weekend that she would be seen, but by Monday no doctor had been in to see her despite repeated attempts. My mother was begging to be removed from the facility. 3- I called them to request that they call an ambulance and take her to the hospital. Their response is that the doctor would have to approve it. I told them that either they were calling the ambulance immediately or I would be calling 911 and an amb

The Nursing Home was easy to find and had plenty of parking. Staff was pleasant and attentive. Very pleased to see our Sister was well cared for and there was no malodorous smells anywhere.
