I had gallbladder issues for over a year, ignored until this past weekend. I was admitted on Saturday 9.20.25 am in until Thursday 9.25.25. The Doctors were amazing and efficient and got everything taken care of quickly. The cleaner for my room was Yehelena she was so friendly and cleaned incredible. My nurses were wonderful, dealt with my breakdowns an always there if needed. I cannot name them all, Lisa CNA bubbly and so friendly. Aimee worked so long and still so gracious. Corrine I believe a new nurse, so incredible she is an asset to the hospital. There were even more nurses that were all wonderful.

Will never attend this hospital again. Multiple serious federal and RI laws, unsafe discharge despite unsafe vitals. which caused physical and emotional trauma to patient and proxy, poor chain of commands, illegal nursing conduct, ADA, CMS, Civil patient rights and most serious violations was made by a nurse with no authority to remove healthcare proxy This is violating RI and federal laws, inappropriate use of hospital servility for forbidding my return to a compromised ADA patient whom I’m legally responsible . Because she dislike the family voicing concerns about her behavior which was unlawful, unethical etc removed my presence at discharge to a confused compromised medical and cognitive patient. Went to their ER, 6:30am, no one there and got right in. Had debilitating upper back pain (later found out 4 discs were under moderate to severe stenosis). Was seen by a nurse for under 20 minutes and despite excruciating pain, they did not want to investigate the causes. They gave me a low strength Percoset and rushed me out, still in severe pain. What is the purpose of an Emergency Room if you're not going to be cared for? A week later in a different facility, we got an MRI and epidural, pain gone. Incredibly poor hospital care at Westerly New Haven.

If your family member choose to be donated to science and they pass away at this hospital please make sure the hospital administration knows the protocols for donation. My family member chose to donate his body to science, thinking others would benefit, after his death. My father passed on Friday September 26, 2025. The hospice and ICU team knew he was being donated to science. The hospital neglected to follow the procedures that were needed to preserve my family member; therefore, the university denied his body due to not being properly cared for, honoring his wishes. The hospital administrators have contacted, but we are still being held at fault for the hospital not following proper procedures. Avoid Westerly Hospital if you are in need of imaging. The provider Ocean Radiology billing practices are unscrupulous. Ocean Radiology will send you an additional bill with no supporting information for the bill. My claim for annual mammogram is covered by my insurance company and has been paid for by the insurance company. However I have received an additional bill from the practice. It is impossible to contact the practice to learn exactly what the bill is for. I did learn much about the practice from Google reviews and the majority of the reviews certainly covered my issues. Not sure why Westerly Hospital continues to have them as a provider.
