Wellstar Spalding Medical Center

My wife and I had our baby girl, Everlee, at Wellstar Labor and Delivery, and we honestly couldn’t have had a better experience. Nurses Morgan and Tamara were fantastic. Professional, caring, and treated us like family the whole time. You can tell they truly love what they do. Midwives Mackenzie and Tiffany were great as well. They were very communicative, kept me informed, never rushed us, and never made us feel like we were asking for too much. That meant a lot during such an important time. The charge nurse, respiratory team, and every single staff member we came in contact with made us feel loved and cared for. It was a 10/10 experience all around. We’re so thankful for everyone who helped bring Everlee into the world.

Ladies at the front desk were nice. Male nurse in the back was pretty rude. My mom is going thru chemo and her blood pressure was too low. I had to bring my mom in for fluids. I am her guardian and he kicked me back to the lobby saying he needed space to work. They hooked my mom up to an IV then just stuck her back in the lobby. She didn’t even see a doctor. No one has even asked any history. I asked the nurse what’s going on and he looked at me like my question was undeserving. My mom said they did an X-ray and when I asked what for, he gave me the same look. Additionally when the IV fluids were done I had to let someone know. Not once did anyone come out to check on her, IV fluids, or to see if her blood pressure has gotten better. Now I understand why everyone says this hospital sucks.

I had my gallbladder removed pretty unexpectedly and had to spend 2 nights in the hospital. Every single person, from the ER department, to the surgery team, to the labor and delivery nurses who took care of me afterwards….was absolutely outstanding! Specifically Dr. McCarter, and my nurses Jennifer and Katelyn went above and beyond during my stay! I am feeling amazing and can’t thank this hospital enough!

I went there for a test today and everyone in the imaging department was nice. But I had to walk back to the main entrance using my Rollator Walker because Uber drivers never can find the Imaging Department. The Uber driver was waiting for me at the main entrance and I was on my way but the security guard was telling him that he would have to drive around because he couldn't sit there. He wasn't there but maybe a minute or so. Thank God I was right there before he left because I didn't want to miss my ride. They really should give patients time to be picked up.

I went to the emergency room last night and experienced the best treatment in my life. This team is really good. They were very professional, thorough, and fast. It was an extremely busy night. I felt very safe the entire time. I felt like they listened to me, even though it was a false alarm. Hospitals almost often get a bad reputation because no one is there for good reason, but it's often a misrepresentation. I was there for a long time but one patient was life flighted as soon as I arrived. I can't speak for Wellstar, but assuredly they are hiring good people to represent them. I would recommend this facility to anyone. I am very thankful that I came here, and if anyone who waited on me reads this,, I'd like to say thank you VERY much for your hospitality.
