WellSpan Chambersburg Hospital

I had my baby at this hospital, and the experience was truly wonderful. The doctors, nurses, and staff were incredibly caring, supportive, and professional from start to finish. They made me feel safe, comfortable, and well-informed throughout the entire process. The maternity unit was clean, and the team went above and beyond to make sure both my baby and I were well taken care of.

Need to give a major shout out to the Chambersburg ER. on Dec 14, I managed to do something to my knee and was in excruciating pain. We decided to call EMS to get me out of the house safely. The paramedics did an amazing job talking me down. Once at the hospital, the ER staff was amazing. The bed arrangement in the hall was weird but that was not high on my list. The nurse was amazing. She did everything she could to make me comfortable. The Dr came and did a very thorough assessment and came up with a good plan of care and even discussed discharge planning. The nurse jumped right on it to get things started. Once everything was done the nurse went over everything with me and got me on my way. Fortunately there was nothing broken. and I must say it was very nice to see the stepped up secur

I went to that hospital very early in the morning because I've been experiencing chest pain and seriously thought I may be in the process of having a heart attack. When I got there everybody was wonderful the nurses were wonderful and they got me right in and set up and ready. They came in and took blood they gave me an EKG and they did a chest x-ray. The doctor came in and started asking me about my previous Healthcare at a primary doctor and I said I don't have one I just moved up here and he said that my EKG was normal which was a relief because that meant I wasn't in the process of having a heart attack and he told me that the blood work will show whether or not I had a previous one or might be having one in the future. Middle of the road here I've had both good and bad experiences. Last night's experience was on the bad side. The PA I saw last night in the ER should have slowed down for 30 seconds and left me talk. I was dehydrated and have one kidney a fact that he clearly missed I should have had an IV for hydration. That didn't happen. I had to ask at the end of my visit about my dehydration and one kidney then he says Oh we can give you IV fluids no thank you sir had you listened in the first place this would have been done. I had been there 6 hrs at this point sitting in the hallway in a hospital gown. I understand they were busy but listen to the patient. I shouldn't have to tell you how to do your job. The nurse however that I had was great.

If you work full time and cannot afford health insurance and don't qualify for medical assistance like me, I hope you can avoid this place if at all possible. I had a rather minor accident that required an overnight stay that they ended up charging me around $17,000 for. They emailed and mailed me a bill each week for over 2 years. The main office in York called me on a regular basis threating to send me to collections. They wanted me to pay $580 a month for like $30 months. I told them there is no way I could afford that. They acted more like a collection agency than a medical business. I ended up filing for bankruptcy to get them off my back. These people are a bunch of thieving rats that will charge you $3,200 just for walking in the ER. I truly despise them and will never use any Wells
