WellNow Urgent Care

As a health care proxy for a person, I needed to see a doctor for him on a Sunday. It was not an emergency situation, but it was important. I was able to book an appointment at the Wellnow in Williamsville NY. The staff were great and a credit to their profession. Thank you. A follow-up to my visit. Due to it being a weekend, staff could not process his co-pay as the insurance company is closed on a weekend and that is not an issue for me. Therefore, I had to pay a higher amount (my cc) and was informed to call billing. Again, no problem. The issue is that billing gave me the run-around more than once so I'm out of the extra money I paid. It's not a lot, but I'm retired. I have to invoice his attorney only with the original amount. I am writing to express my gratitude for the exceptional medical attention I recently received at your facility. The entire experience at WellNow was wonderful, starting with the receptionist who was kind, thoughtful, caring, and detail-oriented. She provided excellent assistance with the paperwork and guided me to the patient room. Sarah and another employee were also incredibly professional and attentive. The other employee quickly took my blood pressure and temperature. Sarah was particularly knowledgeable, thoughtful, and thorough, explaining the procedure in detail before starting. I arrived at WellNow Urgent Care about an hour before closing with a sliver lodged in my arm. From the moment I walked in, the staff greeted me with a smile and treated me with kindness and professionalism. They were very thorough, asking the right questions about medications and medical history to ensure the best care. Julia Krafft, PA-C, handled the procedure with skill, she was able to extract the sliver, treat the area, and provide a prescription, all within a reasonable timeframe. I had a great experience when I had to visit Well Now for a bout with the flu. I waited only 5 minutes and was seen by a nurse and the PQ, both were pleasant and professional. They did test me for the flu and strep and was positive for flu “B” but they had a game plan and was very good following up. I could not recommend them more.

Edited 2/3/2026: Unfortunately the billing situation has changed my review from 5 stars all the way down to 1. I came in for strep throat, but was told that Flu A is presenting with a sore throat this year, so they recommended I be tested for flu A. Turns out that was just a money grab since they charged me $60 for the Flu A test and a surprise $60 for a Flu B test, which I was not told about and did not consent to and, most importantly, did not need and wouldn't have agreed to. Sadly WellNow is really just a CashCow and I will not be returning to this location or any other in the future. Please be aware that these tests are expensive, often not covered by insurance (as in my case), and usually not necessary. Health care isn't about health or care these days... it's about money and profit.
